*~Web Tag Basics~*

Okies PeePs!!

By Now you should have some kind of idea how you want to go about making up your page!! You should have a web page editor and be all set to learn!
First things First, Web pages take time. Don't try to rush cause that's when things get Fudged up!!

1. Tags and how they work!

<HTML> This is the First step to making a web page. Always Put this at the Beginning of your web page and </HTML>at the end. the / before the end one tells the Browser that is reading the page it is the end of the web page.
You will be using / allot.. so get use to it!! Cause if ya forget one. It mess's up the whole page!!

2. <TITLE> This is the tag used to describe the contents of the page.
You will see what is in the title along the top of your browser. REMEMBER: The title is what appears when someone saves your web page to there hot list!! <TITLE>This is the Title</TITLE> See that at the top of your Browser??

3. <BODY>This is the tag used to describe what the Background color or picture, Text colors, and Link colors are going to be.
Example:
<BODY BGCOLOR="Black" TEXT="red" LINK="Blue" VLINK="medium blue">
Notice there is NO > after BODY? Well it is at the end of the segment.
That one would give you a Black Background.
This one would give you a picture background. <BODY BACKGROUND="image.gif" TEXT="red" LINK="Blue" VLINK="medium blue">

or the last part would be {Below} if you chose to go with just a color background & not a Picture

Now You have the Beginnings of a web page! You will not be able to see any of what you just did on your actual page!! But it must be done in order to do the next step!! Are you ready??

4. Text will be the size of the heading tag.. You can begin your page now!! You can determine how Large or Small you want the Text to be with these tags.

<H2> This is a heading tag</H2>

<H3> This is a heading tag</H3>

<H4> This is a heading tag</H4>

<H5> This is a heading tag</H5>
<H6> This is a heading tag</H6>
Another way to choose the size of the scrip you are using is this:
<font size="4" face="arial">
You can change the 4 to other numbers to test the size and you can also change the text from using arial to any other Font you want like New Times Roman.
